VBCC’s spectacular surroundings in Beacon Hill Park formed the backdrop for a day to remember when enthusiastic members welcomed 110+ visitors to the club’s annual Open House, April 20/21. A steady stream of guests arrived between 12 and 4 each afternoon, spreading out over the upper and lower greens to try their hand at bowls or croquet.
Volunteers shared their enthusiasm for the sports, introduced players to the basics and answered queries. Visitors were invited to tour the facilities, sign up for lessons, and obtain information on the cost and many benefits of membership.

Thank you to everyone who made the day a success—organizers of the event, gate greeters, signup table volunteers, and crews on the greens who we hope imparted their love of these sports to our visitors.
The next official club event will be Opening Day Ceremonies on May 4th. We look forward to a fun-filled and successful summer with many new members.
