Men’s League
Monday morning Men’s league will run from May 5 to August 25, 2025. 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. Contact: Keith Newhouse.
Keith reports a successful season:
Nick Bantock was presented the Championship Trophy 2024 in our Monday Morning Men’s Lawn Bowling League on August 26th. Our league plays Scotch Pairs each week, which helps put skips and leads on an equal level in the standings. Nick proved to be accurate and consistent throughout the year finishing firmly in 1st place. Congratulations Nick!
The Monday Morning Men’s League registered 28 gentleman this year. Even with some men attending only a few games during the season, our league still averaged over 20 participants each week. We award points for participation as well as winning each week, and finished our season with a ‘one day playoff’ tournament. Top prize in the playoff tournament for 2024 went to Geoff Poulton playing at the lead position and Bill Mills playing at the skip position. Congratulations to Geoff and Bill.
The greens were consistently in good condition and the competition friendly and fun. The Men’s League 2024 thank everyone involved in our club for another successful season.
Women’s League
Wednesday Women’s League from May 14 to mid September 2025 . Tags in at 9:45 am for a 10:00 am start.

Play during the season was by random draw with 3 points going to each player on the winning team, 2 points for a tie and 1 for attendance. 2024 top scorer and winner of the Tolmie Trophy was Libby Weiser. Rose Westcott and Judy Stevens tied for 2nd and Caroline Mitchell came in 3rd.
Mixed Scotch Pairs – Evening League
Thursday Evening, 6:30 pm. Starts June 1st for 12 weeks (August 21). Pre-register (signup sheet on bulletin board. 12 men/12 women, a round robin format, 12 ends each game. Cost $12 per player.

Evening League Report – David Fox
August 29 was the last evening for the VBCC mixed Scotch Pairs League which ran on Thursday evenings throughout the summer. The league consisted of 10 male and 10 female participants, with each male and female being teamed together for a game. Three points were awarded for a win, two points for a tie and one point for playing. Points were also awarded for each end won.
The Men’s winner was Nick Bantock with Pierre Pomerleau and Bill Mills coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
The Women’s winner was Barb Marriott followed by Cathy Korpela and Portia Priegert for 2nd and 3rd.
The league concluded with a Pizza Night on August 29, which was well attended. Thanks to all of the Bowlers who signed up as subs and those who participated in the league. The feedback has been very positive. In addition, participants voted to donate some of the entry fee to support the New Club Sign fund. Thank you! We look forward to having another league next year.

Women’s Interclub League
Women’s Interclub League . Competitive pairs, at Juan de Fuca LBC, on Monday mornings, 9:30 am. League runs May 26 to July 28, 2024.
