There has been good participation in the Women’s League this year (24 signed up, not all come every time).
Women’s League. Members are invited to participate on a drop-in basis. Games are a random draw and depending on numbers, play is doubles/triples or cutthroat. Tags in by 12:45 pm for a 1:00 pm start.
A signup/score sheet is posted on the notice board in the women’s locker room. After each game, players are requested to enter their individual points: 3 for win, 2 for tie and 1 for attendance. Scores will be totalled at the end of the season.
Cost is $2.00 per session as a contribution to a wrap-up party. Come early to help with set up and pitch in to put equipment away at the end of your game.
Wrap up party September 8th
Over the summer an average of 12 to 18 members turned out for each Wednesday’s draw game of doubles or triples. The league ended a successful season on September 8th with lunch: pizza, lemonade, MaryLynne’s homegrown tomatoes and date squares.
After a final afternoon of play, scores were tallied and money prizes presented to the top three bowlers: 1st Libby Weiser, 2nd Caroline Mitchell and 3rd Brenda Janke.
A hearty thank you goes to Alice Albert for organizing the league, collecting dues and keeping us informed. Also thanks to Anita McCaw for assisting with draws and to everyone who helped set up and take down equipment. It was a summer of fun, exercise and companionship in the sun…who could ask for more!
