An enthusiastic group of bowlers attended the start-up of the Interclub Women’s Novice League at the Victoria Lawn Bowling Club on Friday, June 2nd.
The group chose to play Cutthroat, with 2 to 3 players per rink playing 10 to 12 ends. This format allows each player to score individually by point count of 3, 2 and 1 closest to the jack.
The League, which will play every Friday from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. until the end of August, offers an opportunity to hone delivery skills, adapt to various jack lengths, read the head, formulate game strategy and master measuring technique.
There could be no better testimony to success than the comment echoed by participants: “That was really fun!”
Members of the Victoria and other BSI clubs with one to three years’ experience are invited to participate. There is no cost to enter. Contact: interclubnovicewomensleague@victorialbc.com
