Opening Day

May 4 @ 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm

This is the day we officially kick off the season. Welcome speeches, games and refreshments. An invitation has been extended to City officials to have lunch and resume competition for the Challenge Trophy, an annual event since 2005.

Croquet greens open at 11:00 am. Bowlers tags in no later than 12:30 pm for draw- 8 end game. Refreshments to follow.

Canada Day Fun

Members and guests are invited to join in fun and festivities on Canada Day. Wear red and white. Assorted games (bowl and croquet) at 1:30 pm. BBQ to follow (estimated time 4 pm).

Members and guests are invited to join in fun and festivities on BC Day. Arrive 1:30 pm, Games at 2 pm, Burgers at 4 pm.

Cash bar. Burgers (beef/chicken/veggie), salads and dessert $15 pp (prepay or pay at door). Sign up sheet will be on entrance table, mark your choice, with envelopes for cash or cheque. Greens Update

Wednesday the greens will be open for “LIMITED” play for both Bowls and Croquet. Limited Play will be in place until further notice

LIMITATIONS OF PLAY:

Set-up and Play shall be NO earlier than 12:00 noon and end at 4:00 p.m. Also Please stay away from the center of the Greens allowing for a 5m radius as that is where the moisture is the greatest (7-8 of 10 on the hydrometer). I realize this will be difficult for Croquet to set up a full field but I have noticed a narrow field of play previously. I apologize for this inconvenience.

Also a reminder of “Footwear”. Please be conscious of this aspect.

Just for everyone’s information: An average size (150-200 lb.) individual exerts 5-6 lbs./sq. inch when in a neutral standing state. That is with a flat soled shoe so shoes with nubs or heels will be concentrated in these areas. NO you don’t need to play in your bare feet this is just for you to see how greens this time of year can be impacted by traffic on soft, saturated greens.
