New Year’s Day dawned clear and sunny, a fortuitous break between two weather systems that brought heavy rain to the We(s)t Coast and deep snow to BC’s interior. The skies cleared just in time for VLBC’s annual New Year’s Day sport/social event. Fifty or so members and guests turned out to enjoy the spring-like weather. Some played croquet, some bowled and others did both.
The croquet group has continued to play throughout the season, 3 times a week.
Although the greens are somewhat long and shaggy for bowling, a few have been honing their skills whenever a group can get together.
The usual hot tea and seasonal goodies rounded out the day.
We all appreciated our good fortune in starting 2020 off in such a fun, healthy and positive way.
