Tournament Rankings

How to read the rankings
In each column, the number on the left is the game points (3 for a win: 0 for a loss) and the number on the right is the differential for each game. In the last column are the totals for the tournament. For example – Brenda Janke won 5 of her 6 games for a total of 15 game points with a total differential of 43.

Twelve enthusiastic novice bowlers represented the Burnside, Canadian Pacific, Juan de Fuca, Cowichan, Vic West, Lakehill, Central Saanich and Victoria lawn bowling clubs in the 2021 Bowls South Island Novice Women’s Singles Tournament on Sept. 4-5th. The event, hosted by VLBC, drew a large group of supporters (markers, coaches and volunteers) plus an engaged audience to cheer the players on.

Each player bowled six games in a random draw to 15 points or a 1.5 hour time limit. Winners were determined as outlined above. As the final tally indicates, Helene Bisaillon, from CP Lawn Bowling and Croquet Club, was a clear champ having won all six of her games but the three 5-game winners came in extremely close based on point differential. Runner up was Brenda Janke from Victoria LBC.

A draw was held for 2 bowls-buffing cloths donated by Sherry Sidel, Island rep for Taylor Bowls. Also, the winner was presented with a medal and each novice was presented with a dogwood pin courtesy of Central Saanich LBC.

A special thank you to Anita McCaw, Jo Ann Allan and MaryLynne Reimer for organizing this successful and fun event, the Hospitality Committee for providing refreshments and all the other volunteers who set up/took down equipment.

This was truly an event worth watching and a great way to end the summer. See  play-by-play video here.
