Enthusiastic VLBC members hosted Open House on Saturday and Sunday, sharing their love of lawn bowling and croquet with over a hundred visitors of all ages who dropped by to try these “sports for life.”
Thanks to the Organizing Committee, the event went very smoothly; April showers held off until the end of each day. Greeters welcomed guests at the gates and relayed them to ushers who connected them with coaches on either green. Inside the clubhouse, Annie and the Kitchen Hospitality Crew served hot drinks and goodies to take off the chill. Visitors were offered introductory lessons and membership. One lucky visitor won the draw for free membership.
Over the next few weeks, the greens will be busy with scheduled lessons. By Opening Day on May 6th, a new crop of eager players will be ready to join in the fun on the greens.
Victoria Lawn Bowling Club with its picturesque setting on the edge of Beacon Hill Park is the place to spend your summer. Don’t miss out!
