Second Loonie ‘Fun’ Night

George’s Loonie ‘Fun’ Nights are proving to be the biggest draw of the bowling season! Over 50 participants and guests showed up for the second bowling/BBQ event on Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 7:30 pm. The evening started with a skills drill, each player in groups of three delivering two bowls on a circuit with various jack settings. A winner was arrived at after continuous elimination of the bowl furthest from the jack.

After this warm up, the group returned to the clubhouse to enjoy Peter’s barbecued burgers/condiments and drinks from the bar.

After eating and socializing, it was out to the greens again for a game of Skins Bowls. Although for some the score keeping proved as challenging as the bowling, everyone agreed the game met the promise of FUN! FUN! FUN!

Each player contributed a Loonie to participate and each player took home a small monetary amount. Thanks to Lady Luck, the winning team Cathy Korpela, Alice Albert and Janet Pretty amassed 11 “carry over” points in the last end giving them a total of 20 game points.

Once again, a huge thank you goes to George Gibson and his army of volunteers (especially Mary/Angelina at sign-in table, Anita in the bar and Peter/Irene/kitchen help for dinner) and others who made the evening a success.

Don’t miss the final Loonie ‘Fun’ Afternoon on Saturday, September 29th.
