Against a backdrop of cherry blossom trees on Cook Street, a sizeable number of volunteers turned out March 10th for the Club’s Annual Spring Cleanup.
Sun warmed the backs of those who opted to work outdoors cleaning ditches, mowing verges, weeding flower beds, washing windows and wiping down benches. Others tackled the inside cleaning , or tidied the office and storage rooms. A good amount of time was spent socializing—after all, that is half the fun of volunteering, along with the reward of tea, coffee and baking.
Facilities are now spiffed up for the April 7/8th Open House, upcoming novice lessons (lawn bowling and croquet) and official opening day on April 28th.
The success of the club depends on volunteers. Thank you everyone who attended.
Check out our new Volunteers page (which we will add to over the coming season) in acknowledgement and appreciation of the many hours members contribute to making the Victoria Lawn Bowling Club a success.
